Community Outreach / Food Pantry

Community Outreach Ministry believe that there are many within our community who may be in need of some support.

We also believe that we can make a difference by providing supplemental food and non-food items to our community through our Food Pantry.

We define our community by need rather than by parish borders. Our founding belief is that if people come for food, they are hungry. We do not pass judgment on their need; we work hard to preserve the dignity of those we assist. We see the face of Christ in all.

Our ministry is dependent upon the generosity of the parishioners of St. Maria Goretti, as well as donations from local businesses and community groups, to fund our efforts.

Our Outreach volunteers serve in many different capacities: some shop to stock our pantry; others volunteer time to assist at the monthly food pantry, which is currently open the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Still other volunteers chair special projects like our Christmas giving tree, summer back-to-school program or basically, whatever needs to be done.

Community Outreach meetings are held periodically throughout the year.  Please watch the bulletin for details pertaining to these meetings which are open to all who are interested.

We invite all who are interested to contact our business office to discuss how to get more involved and join us in serving those in need of our support.

We welcome your ideas! We can use whatever you have to give!
